Free Medical Care, Eye Glasses, as Chrsitos Church Hosts Pastors this Weekend

Thousands of pastors from different denominations will converge on
Christos International Worship Centre’s Abuja Headquarters on
Saturday, 25th January 2025. Apart from the conference which will take
place that day, to discuss the welfare of pastors, many doctors and
nurses will be on hand there at the Church, called the Dome, No. 1
David Ogudu Crescent by Apo Kabusa Express Way, Apo, Abuja to give
them free medical checkup.
The medical team will also give out free medication, and as well as
some 50 medicated eye glasses to those in need. Dr. David Ogudu, the
presiding Bishop of Christos International Worship Centre explained
that church ministers or pastors “need to re-learn and unlearn many
things” and begin to take better care of their health, as there is a
big difference between “fact and faith.” He said that many pastors are
so much at the beck and call of their other church members that they
burn out easily. He said that many do not know how to rest well and
that inadequate rest or lack of sleep has an effect on the body and
that though miracles are real, pastors and Christians in general
should fully embrace medical care to meet their health challenges by
going to the hospital for treatment. He said that it is unchristian to
refuse to go for medical checkups so that complications could be
nipped in the bud before they develop as God created the doctors and
one of them was even an Apostle.
So, while engaging in certain things which are good for spiritual
growth, a pastor must also learn how to listen to his body for health
warnings and know ways of how to take care of himself, he added.
The free medical checkup is part of a three-day series of events
sponsored by the David Ogudu Mission Foundation to mark Bishop Ogudu’s
50th birthday. On Friday 24 January, a Praise Worship session was held
in the church from 5: 30 PM to kick start the celebrations, while the
Ministers Conference and Free Medical Checkup comes up on Saturday
from 8: AM. The grand finale comes up on Sunday with the launch of
Bishop Ogudu’s music album, celebratory comedy and music presentation.
This Red Carpet main event will start from 1: PM after the Sunday
church service. Josh Pirez, CEEDEE and Mazi Prosper will be on hand
to spice up the celebrations.
