Femi Fani-Kayode Writes Police over Threat To Life
The Spokesman for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential Campaign Organization, Femi Fani-Kayode, has written to the Police in Abuja, complaining about threat to his life.
According to a source close to Fani-Kayode, “since his revelation about the All Progressives Congress (APC) leader, Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s oath taking scandal within the top hierarchy of the party, my boss has received over 53 strange calls, from unknown fellows threatening his life” .
The Police spokesperson, Emmanuel Ojukwu, also confirmed that the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) has already swung into action following Fani-Kayode’s petition.
“The petition is about threat to life. Even before he wrote IGP Suleiman Abba about it, we have already moved in to ascertain what went wrong and the veracity of his claims. However, we are investigating the threat, we hope to also get in touch with the petitioner to take a look at those numbers that actually called him.”
Fani-Kayode, had earlier taken to his Facebook and tweeter account pages, to tell the whole world that his life has been threatened, “ with unregistered and strange numbers calling me endlessly. This same number has been sending text messages with contents that are life threatening. My family members and friends are not left out here.
I therefore call on the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Suleiman Abba, to urgently come to my assistance. I am a very private Nigerian, who has several family members, friends and relations both within and outside Nigeria, who I would not want anything bad to happen to anyone of them.”
He added that despite all this, he would not be intimidated or derailed from his principal duties. “My life is in God’s hand and nobody can take it except God allows it, so I am not disturbed or afraid because of their threats, but I need to bring it to the notice of all Nigerians and the law enforcement agents.”
