Fayose mocks Tambuwal in viral video over PDP loss in Sokoto guber election
Former governor of Ekiti state, Ayodele Fayose, has mocked Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto for the loss of his candidate to APC’s Alhaji Ahmad Aliyu in the governorship election.
Both Fayose and Tambuwal are members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) but things fell apart between them when Tambuwal stepped down at the party’s presidential primary for Atiku Abubakar instead of Nyesom Wike, believed to be the front runner among the southern candidates.
Fayose in a trending video was seen sitting with two bottles of champagne beside him. He mocked Tambuwal describing the Sokoto Governor as a ‘treacherous’ person who betrayed Atiku Abubakar at a time, Bola Tinubu and recently Wike.
He described the loss of Sokoto by Tambuwal as pay back time after which he poured champagne into a glass.
Recall that in Sokoto, INEC declared Alhaji Ahmad Aliyu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as winner of the governorship election, defeating the PDP candidate backed by the incumbent PDP governor Aminu Tambuwal.
Prof. Armaya’u Hamisu, the INEC Returning Officer, made the declaration after collation of the election results from 23 Local Government Areas of the state, on Sunday in Sokoto.
Hamisu, who is also the Vice Chancellor Federal University Dutsin-ma, said Aliyu won the election with 453,661 votes.
He said that Malam Sa’idu Umar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) came second with 404,632 votes.
