Eid-el-Kabir: Sultan, Ganduje, Sanusi preach love, tolerance

The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III, on Sunday in Sokoto urged Nigerians to imbibe the spirit of godliness, and peaceful coexistence in the interest of national unity.

Abubakar who made the call in his Eid-el-Kabir message, urged Nigerians to improve in terms of charity, perseverance and spiritual intercession for the nation.

“Today is a day of sacrifice, we must seek divine intervention in all our activities, I appeal to all of you to pray for peace and unity of the country.

“We should pray and support our leaders to succeed in the effort of sustaining the peace and progress of the nation.

“We have seen a lot of commitments and dedication in the fight against insecurity, with our support and fervent prayers, we will surely succeed,” he said.

The royal father urged Muslim faithful to always reflect on, and uphold the virtues of the Eid-el-Kabir such as patience, perseverance and brotherliness.

“I wish all Nigerians happy Sallah celebration, I urge us to exude the fear of Allah in all our activities.

Meanwhile, the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi II on Sunday called on parents to inculcate the fear of God in their children, so that they can be assets to the family and society at large.‎

The Emir made the call while addressing the people of the state shortly after he led the Eid prayer at the Kofar Mata Central Eid ground in Kano metropolis.‎

Sanusi urged parents to train their children in a rightful way and also urged them to give priority to the education of their children.‎‎‎

He also admonished Muslims to always manifest the fear of Allah by fulfilling their promises.

The monarch ‎then called on Nigerians to continue to live in peace with one another so as to foster peace, love and unity in the country.

After the prayers, Gov. Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano felicitated with the Muslim Ummah, on the occasion of Eid-el-Kabir.

He enjoined Muslims to love and share with the less privileged as exemplified by Prophet Mohammed (SAW).‎
