DSS releases Ifeanyi Ubah after six weeks in detension
Oil and gas magnate and owner of a football club, Ifeanyi Ubah, has reportedly regained his freedom after about six weeks in the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS).
Unconfirmed report by elombah.com, said Mr. Ubah who is the Managing Director of Capital Oil & Gas was released by the DSS on Tuesday. He was arrested and detained by DSS since May 5, 2017 on the allegation that he was allegedly involved in acts of “economic sabotage which include stealing, diversion and illegal sale of petroleum products stored in his tank farm (in Lagos) by the NNPC. So, far, it has been established that the products stolen amount to over Eleven Billion Naira (N11bn).”
But Mr. Ubah denied the charges and was granted bail in court but he was not released.
