Death of Ada Jesus and what you must know about kidney disease
You have heard that popular comedienne, Ada Jesus (real name Mercy Mmesoma Obi) died Wednesday morning after a prolonged battle with chronic kidney disease resulting in kidney failure, but what you not have heard is that this disease is on the ascendancy.
In recent months, some notable Nigerians have reportedly died of kidney-related ailments. Ada Jesus just became the latest victim.
The Imo State-born entertainer was only 22 when she died and had battled with the ailment for some time.
Ada Jesus was born on February 19, 1998, and she hails from Orlu, Imo state. The 22-year-old was the third child in her family.
The mother of one child, a son from her 2018 marriage died just two days after marking her 22nd birthday.
Family sources said her struggle against kidney failure predates her misunderstanding with Onitsha-based self-confessed prophet, Odumeje aka Indabosky Pahose, who was said to have rained causes on her lately. The preacher, however, openly proclaimed that he has forgiven the comedienne.
Experts have listed major causes of kidney failure to include: Diabetes, high blood pressure, heart and blood vessel (cardiovascular) disease, smoking, obesity, being African-American, native American or Asian-American, family history of kidney disease and abnormal kidney structure.
