Fresh facts have emerged on why the Kano State House of Assembly suspended the much-publicised probe of the Emir of Kano, Sanusi Muhammadu II.
Last week, the state anti-corruption agency had also suspended its probe into alleged misappropriated N6bn of the Emirate’s funds.
Speaker of the House of Assembly, Kabiru Alhassan Rurum, has revealed that Acting President Yemi Osinbajo, Ibrahim Babangida, former military president Abdulsalami Abubakar, former head of state; Sa’ad Abubakar, sultan of Sokoto, Aliko Dangote, billionaire businessman pleaded on Sanusi’s behalf.
Rurum also told the House on Monday, that Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje had written a letter seeking the suspension of the probe of the Emir.
He said Ganduje pleaded with the lawmakers to suspend the investigation.
