Critical assignment: Buhari orders security chiefs to check killing
President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday held a crucial meeting with the Security Chiefs. The meat of the closed door meeting was a review of the crumbling security situation in the country. The President was said to have expressed grave concern at the bad image the ugly security trend is giving to his administration.
An angry Buhari was said to have given the respective security chiefs to stand up to the situation which he said was threatening the unity and peace of the nation. In recent weeks, persons suspected to be Fulani herdsmen have had a free reign in the North especially in North central zone where they had clashed with host communities and farmers resulting in a harvest of deaths.
Inside Aso Rock sources said the President gave a pep talk to the security chiefs and urged them to contain the spate of killings.
