CAC staff insist sacked Registrar, Abubakar, was ‘fetish, corrupt’
Staff of Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) are still celebrating the “inglorious exit” by way of sack of the former Chief Executive and Registrar-General, Garba Abubakar, whose appointment was terminated by President Bola Tinubu recently.
Political Economist NG visit to the Abuja head office of CAC revealed a deeper relishing of the sacking of Abubakar by the staff far more than words could capture.
Some of the staff spoken to showed no restraint in expressing their joy and pouring invectives on their former boss whom some accused of using voodoo and fetish means to run the commission during his tenure.
“In his three years and nine months, he has been a terror to staff, an unloving CEO and very mean in his corrupt ways,” alleges a staff who refused to identify herself.
Another staff, a lawyer, told Political Economist NG that Abubakar slowed down processes that were working at the commission before his arrival.
“You don’t make change for change sake. He came here and made operations more opaque than ever and this led to unethical ways of doing things especially from his office. He acted alone most of the time and negated collective decision-making in management,” he said.
The workers, who were seen dancing in a viral video on the day he was sacked have not stopped dancing three days after his exit.
From erecting a banner that was placed at the entrance of the CAC headquarters on Monday detailing the alleged offences of the sacked Registrar-General, the excited staff have designed a mock obituary poster announcing the ‘inglorious exit’ of the former register.
The poster which has been trending on social media reads: “With gratitude to God, the entire staff of Corporate Affairs Commission celebrate the inglorious exit of Fetish and Vicious tyrant Registrar- General, whose tyrannical reign of 3 years and 9 months terminates on the (sic) October 13th, 2023”
The message continued further: “He will be remembered for Abuse of office, backwardness, power intoxication, lies, impunity, divide and rule style of leadership, mischief, high-level of corruption, sadism, nepotism, zero staff welfare, witch-hunting, illegalities, vindictiveness, high-handedness, financial misappropriation, physical abuse, embezzlement, arrogance.”
The message ended with ‘Glory be to God Almighty; Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) is free at last.
