Budget ministry builds staff capacity on ERGP implementation
May 4, 2018
The Ministry of Budget and National Planning has organised a specialised training programme for its staff to build their capacity on effective implementation of Economic Recovery and Growth Plan (ERGP).
Mr Olajide Odewale, the Permanent Secretary in the ministry, said this in a statement signed by Mrs Victoria Agba-Attah, Director, Press, in the ministry on Friday in Keffi.
Agba-Attah said Odewale expressed delight with the effort of government towards deepening the understanding of participants in the implementation of the ERGP.
According to him, one of the several steps to get the plan effectively implemented is through capacity building.
He said the problem of the country was not lack of development plans but failure to implement the plans.
According to him, the training is aimed at enhancing the capacity of core officers in the various Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) on the critical elements for effective implementation of the Plan.
He said the training would also equip the officers with relevant technical skills in project/programmes execution for enhanced service delivery in the country.
In addition, he said core officers in various Federal Ministries Departments and Agencies (MDAs) would be participating in the training programme being organised in four batches.
