You brought joy to Africa; fans mourn Ada Ameh
Fans have continued to mourn the demise of Ada Ameh, the Nollywood actress popular for her role in The Johnsons, the family sitcom, who died Sunday night in Delta, aged 48.
Ameh’s death was confirmed by Emeka Rollas, president of the Actors Guild of Nigeria AGN), on Monday morning.
According to some fans who serenaded the actress, comedian and motivational speaker on social media, she was a bundle of talent who brought joy to Africa.
The actress was said to have collapsed while in Warri as guest of a senior staff of an oil company. She was rushed to the NNPC hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
In recent media outings, she had complained of going in and out of depression as a result of family calamities including the death of her brother, sister, mother and lately her daughter who she had at age 14.
Many feared for her mental health after the death of her daughter who was said to be her best and closest friend.
“My daughter was my best cheerleader and after her death, I saw my world collapse in front of me,” she recently recounted in a media interview.
Born on May 15, 1974 in Ajegunle, Lagos, the popular actress shared a video of her eating with the family around 12:53pm on Sunday on her official Instagram page.
