Acting on credible intelligence, troops carried out a late night raid, Wednesday, and dislodged suspected kidnappers from their hideout at Enugwu Agidi, Njikoka local government area of Anambra state.
The strategic raid which witnesses said commenced about midnight, some say specifically by 12.15 am Wednesday night, led to the arrest of one Mr Chukwudi Tansi, a member of a suspected kidnapping syndicate in the state.

The troops also discovered the armoury of the suspects and recovered assorted dangerous weapons including 2 AK 47 rifles, 8 pump action machine guns, 4 locally-made pistols, 3 packets of cartridges (101 cartridges), 4 empty magazines of AK47 rifles, and 3 cutlasses.

Other items recovered were one Baofeng radio, one motorcycle and some charms.
Anambra has of late become the deadliest state in the south east with kidnappers and sundry criminals terrorising neighbourhoods and ambushing commuters on the roads.
