Arsenal overhaul Spurs 2-0 at Emirates
Arsenal turned on the style to beat Tottenham 2-0 in the north London derby at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday.
The Gunners went in front through Shkodran Mustafi when the defender headed home from Mesut Ozil’s free-kick. Tottenham protested the decision to award the set-piece after Davinson Sanchez was adjudged to have fouled his namesake Alexis.
And the Chilean was on target minutes later, finishing well from a tight angle to double Arsenal’s advantage before the break. It was a match in which Arsenal outplayed the fiercest London rivals. Spurs was off duty for much of the game with Harry Kane and Dele Ali reduced to mere passengers in a match they were touted to be the chief drivers.
