Justice Jude Onwugbuzie of the Federal Capital Territory High Court in Apo, Abuja, has ordered the final forfeiture of about ₦8.9bn assets linked to businesswoman Aisha Achimugu to the Federal Government.

The listed assets include jewellery valued at ₦4.65bn, 11 exotic vehicles worth ₦4.29bn, $50,000, and ₦30 million in cash.

Political Economist NG reports that the EFCC had urged the court to grant permanent forfeiture of the properties to the Federal Government, arguing that they were proceeds of unlawful activities.

Justice Onwugbuzie granted the commission’s application and ordered that the jewellery, vehicles and cash be finally forfeited to the Federal Government bringing to closure the long-running case.
