Adelusi-Adeluyi, Prof. Akinyanju, Diamond Bank, Dangote Foundation, OSTCS win Nigeria Health Awards
Prince Julius Adelusi-Adeluyi, Founder and Chairman of Juli Pharmacy; Professor Olu Akinyanju, Chairman and Founder of Sickle Cell Foundation; Diamond Bank, Dangote Foundation and the Ondo State Trauma & Surgical Centre were among the over 23 personalities and organisations that were celebrated as Nigeria healthcare champions for 2016 by the Nigeria Healthcare Excellence Award (NHEA 2016). The event was organized by Global Project & Resources in collaboration with Anadach, USA. It was sponsored by PharmAccess.
Prince Adelusi-Adeluyi and Professor Akinyanju received the highest honours as Lifetime Achievers, Diamond Bank won the Healthcare Financial Friendly Institution of the Year, Dangote Foundation was celebrated as having the most Outstanding CSR Health Project of the Year, while the Ondo State Trauma and Surgical Centre (OSTCS) won the Outstanding State Healthcare Programme of the Year.
Speaking at the award ceremony, the Minister of Health, Professor Isaac Folorunsho Adewale who was represented by Dr. Olufemi Fasanmade, Chairman Medical Advisory Committee LUTH said, “Though there are challenges facing the healthcare sector we are determined to correct and improve on it. Our colleagues and other stakeholders who are been celebrated here today deserve it. We must continue to encourage ourselves and promote good deeds in our society. NHEA is a good initiative that deserve encouragement from all stakeholders”.
In his acceptance, Prince Adelusi-Adeluyi says, “Nigerian Healthcare over the years has always been at the forefront of promoting innovation, teamwork, technological advancement and quality of healthcare service delivery” He therefore called for more unity in the sector to ensure improvement and more innovative growth in the sector for the benefit of all.
Also speaking, Moses Braimah, NHEA Director of Strategy & Communication hailed the award as the Oscar of the Nigeria healthcare sector. He further said that “NHEA has come a long way, and that the 2016 edition shows far more improvement than the previous two editions. In terms of organisation and participation by stakeholders. Awareness is growing. We can only get better.”
Dr. Wale Alabi, the Project Director says, “This is the highest honours for an outstanding excellence in the Nigeria healthcare space. They are champions who deserve recognition.”

The award was graced by healthcare stakeholders and dignitaries from private and public sectors, media and the diplomatic community.
NHEA 2016 received over 1,600 entries from over 80 organizations and individuals from all the 36 states of Nigeria.
