President Muhammadu Buhari Wednesday shocked his cabinet members including Vice President Yemi Osinbajo by arriving at the Council Chambers of the State House at 9.51am ahead of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting scheduled for 10.00am.
The practice is that the ministers and other Cabinet members are seated before 10. 00am while the meeting starts as soon as the President takes his seat.
But, as at the time President Buhari was seated at the Chamber, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo , Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari, National Security Adviser, Babagana Monguno and 19 of the 36 ministers were yet to turn up for the meeting.
The President looked round and said, “I came too early” but called for recitation of the National Anthem after which the meeting commenced.
Vice President Osinbajo and others who came five minutes into the meeting were however ushered into the Chamber through the Tea Room as the main door was already shut. The drama did not have douse the enthusiasm of the officials as the meeting ended on a high note.
