The Lagos State Chief Judge, Justice Opeyemi Oke has stressed the need for Nigeria to focus on building a society of self-fulfilled individuals, through investment in youths, to achieve a brighter and better future for all its citizens.
Speaking at the Annual General Meeting and the introduction of the new State Scout Commissioner for Lagos State Scouts Council, Justice Oke noted that before any tangible development can suffice, deliberate attention must be given to the development of the potentials of youths.
According to her, showing concern for the activities of men and women volunteers of the scout and other non-profit making organisations that are beneficial to the society is one of the numerous ways of contributing to national development.

Oke congratulated those who have chosen to be part of the scout movement and encouraged them to continually have the unity of purpose needed to truly make the impact that everyone desires.
While noting that the Lagos State Scout Council is more than a mere assembly of men, Oke asserted that it remains a movement that is committed to making significant contributions to the development of young people for the purpose of achieving their full physical, intellectual, emotional, social and spiritual potentials as individuals, responsible citizens and members of their local, national and international communities.
She commended the Council election that brought about the emergence of the new State Scout Commissioner, stressing that it is highly remarkable that the entire exercise was peaceful and laudable.
In his remark, the new State Commissioner for the Council, Mr. Olohuntoyin Oyeyemi Adebesin pleaded with the Chief Judge not to renege on her pledge to continually support the activities of the Council.
“Your Lordship, let me use this medium to appeal to you especially that you should equally stretch your hands to me as you have done to my predecessor; a move which made him succeed in office during his tenure”, he said
