Police quiz four for unsolicited job messages
The Lagos State Police Command says it has invited and interrogated four suspects for allegedly sending unsolicited job interview messages to members of the public.
The command’s spokesman, CSP Chike Oti, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday that the suspects were invited following a complaint by a member of the public.
He said the complainant (name withheld) claimed to have received a message for a job interview from the accused individuals.
Oti added that the suspects were interrogated and set free because they were not into fraud as alleged.
“However, investigations showed that they are not fraudsters. They are drug products promoters looking for vendors,’’ the police spokesman said.
On how they got the phone numbers of individuals invited for such interview, Oti said: “The suspects said they sent out fliers to the public which they filled, including their phone contacts.
“The complainant had done well to have reported the case to the police. That is part of the community policing we are talking about.
“When you see something, say something.
“Policemen attached to Area G Command, Ogba, Lagos, acted promptly by accompanying the complainant to the building where they are operating from.’’
NAN reports that the suspects, while making statements, said they were into digital marketing and that they invite people for interview where they introduce them to marketing of GNLD Neo Life products. (NAN)
