Konga unveils post-merger logo, set for market dominance
Hours after it announced strategic merger between Konga and Yudala, Zinox Group, promoters of the new company has unveiled the post-merger logo of Konga as it sets its sight on market dominance.
It was agreed that both Konga and Yudala would now operate with the trade name Konga with corporate strategist Olusiji Ijogun as its Chairman. The newly created Konga will now have two CEOs: Messrs. Nick Imudia who manages the online portfolio and Prince Nnamdi Ekeh who will superintend over the offline chain.
The new Konga logo combines attributes from the individual companies that formed the merger. The name KONGA is scripted in white colour over a fuchsia (deep purplish pink) background. The letter ‘K’ in Konga is slightly fused into a smiley face in deep yellow with upwardly curved eyes, nose and mouth in fuchsia. The smiley is an artistic expression of a happy face denoting the sense of happiness and satisfaction consumers get from Konga. The grandeur of the logo is matched by the brilliance of the pay-off line: ‘Shop Smart. Live well’.
Zinox recently acquired e-commerce giant Konga in what appears as Nigeria largest e-commerce acquisition. On Sunday, it announced the merger of Konga with Yudala, Africa’s first truly composite offline-online outfit. Yudala founded barely two years ago is one of the ambitious youth-driven companies under the Zinox Group.
The merger which takes effect from Tuesday May 1st 2018, will see both companies operate under the KONGA brand name. The strategic decision will see both companies leverage their combined strengths and is expected to further broaden the scope of organized retail and e-commerce in Nigeria and deliver more value to customers and merchants.
Nick Imudia is a Finland-based Nigerian and former Vice President of Nokia. Imudia recently left TCL/Alcatel where he was the Regional Director, responsible for Nigeria and Central Africa Operations. Before joining TCL/Alcatel, Imudia was Managing Director, Nokia West and Central Africa, a thriving concern which remains a world leader in Mobility, driving the transformation and growth of the converging Internet and Communications industry.
Prince Ekeh is the young founder of Yudala. A graduate of University of Lancashire in the UK, he mooted the Yudala dream as an undergraduate and birthed it to life after graduation. Yudala came into the marketplace with a uniqueness being the first to offer offline and online e-commerce service from its many Experience outlets.
Ijogun’s sterling career, spanning over three decades, has seen him hold several top positions including Senior Group Manager, Unilever Audit, Divisional Managing Director, UAC Foods, Group Finance Director, UAC of Nigeria Plc and Commercial Director, Lever Egypt. He was appointed to the Board of Honeywell Group where he positioned the Group in the foods sector of the Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) segment.
