Robbers Storm FRCN Training School in Lagos, Rape Teenager
Dare devil armed robbers in the early hours of Wednesday raided the Federal Radio Cooperation of Nigeria (FRCN) training school located at Ladipo area of Oshodi, Lagos and carted away cash, laptops, after assaulting some of the female occupants of the facility.
The training school which is situated on over five acres of land also dotted some dilapidated facilities, which serve as residential apartment to some FRCN staff.
Police spokesperson in the State, Ngozi Braide, would rather call the incident burglary, as according to her the hoodlums stormed the training School in the middle of the night. “Yes, I can confirm to you now that, there was burglary at the FRCN training school in Lagos. But there was no casualty, though the hoodlums made away with laptops, cash. It was not an armed robbery case but a break-and-enter kind.”
But checks by our Correspondent revealed that the criminals were all armed to the teeth at the time they woke some of their victims up in the middle of the night and began their operation.
“They were over 10 in number, all of them on face-masks. We were all ordered out to the sitting room, while two of them ransacked our bedrooms and took whatever appealed to them, including my HP laptop, some money, but the most painful part of the entire scenario is what they did to my 16-year-old daughter”, a parent told our Correspondent.
The resident added that the robbers took time to carry out their evil act and left unharassed. “Meanwhile, this School is located in GRA area of Ikeja, it is a shouting distance to the Lagos State Police Command Headquarters and also share the same fence with Nigerian Army Cantonment, Ikeja. I am still in deep shock, the whole thing still look like a movie to me,” the parent said.
Another resident said the robbers finished drinks in his bar and even had some as take away. “Can you imagine that kind of armed robbers that would operate for two hours unhindered, meanwhile, there is a Police patrol vehicle stationed at Ladipo Bus stop and Shogunle, my question is where were they?”
Meanwhile, the case has been taken over by Federal Anti-robbery Squad (FEDSARS). The FRCN complex also houses two Frequency Modulation (FM) station; Bond FM and Choice. The radio station and the staff were not touched by the hoodlums.
