Sad day in Lagos: Gunmen abduct students, principals
Gunmen suspected to be militants on Thursday morning invaded Lagos State Model College, Igbonla, Epe, Lagos, abducting the principals and some students. Epe and Ikorodu, two riverine parts of Lagos had been under siege of kidnappers in recent time.
The kidnappers were said to have stormed the school in the early hours when the students were having their morning devotion.
They abducted the principals of the junior secondary school and that of the senior secondary school, Mr. Oyesola and Mr. Akirinmade respectively as well as a few students who could not be immediately identified.
Some terrified students of the school said the gunmen were many and they were swift in their operation.
Men of the Lagos State police command have already begun a manhunt for the kidnappers who as at press time were yet to made any demand for ransom.
