The Police Command in Lagos State says a 45-year old man, simply identified as Kazeem, has jumped into a river and died after allegedly taking hard drug suspected to be Colorado.

The Command’s spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed this, saying that the Alagbado Police Division, on Friday at about 11.00 a.m. got information about the incident.

Hundeyin said that the informant told the police that the deceased under the influence of suspected hard drug ran uncontrollably and jumped into a river at Odo Tente, boundary between Lagos and Ogun.

He said the deceased allegedly died in the river before help could come.

The police spokesman said that the scene was visited by detectives from the division who photographed the area, while the corpse was evacuated.

Hundeyin said that the father of the deceased, when contacted through the telephone, directed that the corpse should be buried immediately by the river side according to their tradition.

He said that investigation was ongoing. (NAN)
