Parental neglect tops list of human rights violations in Adamawa in 9 months – NHRC

The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) in Adamawa recorded 138 cases of human rights violations between January and Sept. 30, with parental neglect topping the list.
Mamza listed other violations to include domestic violence with about 15 per cent, right to inheritance, physical assault, while five per cent of the cases were on right to dignity and threat to life.
According to her, 75 per cent of the cases were resolved, some are ongoing, while some were referred to police, judiciary and other organisations with similar mandate for further determination.
She urged Nigerians to respect human rights at all times for peaceful coexistence and advised parents, especially husbands, to take good care of their families.
She called on the public to report any right violations to the commission or security agencies for justice to prevail (NAN)
