NIMC DG: Coker-Odusote is perfect fit for the job – Senator Murray-Bruce
Senator Ben Murray-Bruce has hailed the appointment of Bisoye Coker-Odusote, an engineer, as the Acting Director-General/CEO of the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), describing her as a “perfect fit” for the job.
Recall that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu had approved her appointment for a 90-day period in acting capacity with effect from August 24, 2023, after which a full term of four years will begin as the substantive NIMC CEO beginning on November 24, 2023.
In his social media post, Senator Bruce wrote: “Congratulations, Engineer Bisoye Coker-Odusote, on your well-deserved appointment as the Acting Director-General/CEO of the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC). Your dedication, expertise, and leadership qualities make you the perfect fit for this significant role. As your tenure commences, I am confident that under your astute guidance, the NIMC will achieve unprecedented milestones.
“May this new chapter bring forth immense success, growth, and progress for both you and the Commission. Congratulations once again, Engineer Bisoye, and I wish you all the very best for your substantive term that awaits.

Coker-Odusote’s appointment comes after the President directed the commencement of 90-day pre-retirement leave for the Commission DG, Engr. Aliyu Abubakar Aziz.
Below is the profile of the acting NIMC DG
Bisoye Coker-Odusote, an engineer, is the General manager/CEO of the Lagos State Infrastructure Maintenance and Regulatory Agency (LASIMRA), a state body charged with oversight of utility (telecommunications, electrical, gas, and water [over and under the ground]) infrastructure within Lagos State.
She had previously worked as a Special Adviser on Technology to the President during his time as the Governor of Lagos State between 1999-2003.
Her impressive journey also includes serving as the Head of Information Technology & Communication at Bate Litwin, an engineering company working on projects such as Chevron ESA (JV with Atlas).
Coker-Odusote’s diverse experience also encompasses her time in the United Kingdom and Nigeria, with 15 years of expertise across technology, real estate/construction, oil and gas, finance, and media industries.
As a tech visionary, she was the National Database Project Director for the All Progressives Congress (APC), showcasing her commitment to utilising technology for transformative purposes.
Additionally, And presently sits on the board of IT Data Network Limited, amongst other key positions at home and abroad.
In addition, Coker-Odusote is also the founder of a tech advancement initiative under The Bibi Coker Foundation that gives education grants to women studying STEM-related degrees.
