Antonio Conte’s Chelsea has returned to the summit of the English Premier League and it was down to Nigeria’s Victor Moses whose goal made all the difference in 2-1 victory over vising Tottenham United at the Bridge. Moses now in the best form ever of his playing career was at the centre of most of the attacking challenges of Chelsea and would seal his efforts with goal to shoot Chelsea back to the top where they were temporarily dethroned by Liverpool. Moses’ winning goal ended Tottenham’s unbeaten run in the EPL.

In Africa, Nigeria thrashed Kenya 4-0 to reach the semi-finals of the women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon from Group B along with Ghana who beat Mali 3-1 to book their place.

Nigeria started quickly against Kenya in Limbe and scored with their second attack after just two minutes of play as Ngozi Okobi fired home on her first start of the tournament.

Four minutes later, Nigeria doubled the lead when Faith Ikidi headed the ball into the top corner beyond the reach of Kenya goalkeeper Vivian Akinyi from a free-kick swung in from the left.

The Super Falcons continued to create chances with Asisat Oshoala  looking  crisp and deadly in attack. And it paid off in the 53rd minute when Okobi pushed the ball into the area and Oshoala ran in behind the Kenya defence and sweetly tucked the ball into the net to bring her tournament tally to six goals

Nigeria’s fourth came in the closing minutes as Desire Oparanozie beat a Kenyan defender to fire home from the edge of the six-yard area.
