Gunmen raid home of Buhari’s man, abduct ex-Minister
Despite claims by the police of taming the bogey of kidnapping, dare-devil gunmen have continued to hatch their evil plot without let. In the early hours of Sunday, some gunmen raided the home of a confidant of President Muhammadu Buhari, Mamman Daura, in Kaduna and abducted a former Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Amb. Bagudu Hirse, who was visiting the Dauras.
Witnesses said the target was the Mamman Daura one of the henchmen in the Buhari government but the gunmen in a clear case of mistaken identity grabbed the former minister and bundled him into a waiting vehicle and zoomed off to an unknown destination.
A family source said the former Minister was in the house of Mamman Daura in Kaduna on a visit when the incident occurred.
In recent months, some gunmen have been terrorizing Kaduna State in what is seen as a strange development because Kaduna was considered one of the safest states in the north and a haven for the northern elite.
The phones of the former minister had been switched off and the gunmen were yet to establish contact with members of his family as at press time.
