Adeboye breaks silence on Covid-19 vaccination; gives condition
October 4, 2021
The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Worldwide, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has at last broken his silence on the ongoing Covid-19 vaccination.
Adeboye said he will only vaccinate if not taking the jab will prevent him from entering certain countries to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ.
“What will make me to be vaccinated is, if not being vaccinated will hinder me from entering any nation to preach the gospel, for that I will be vaccinated.”
While counselling only members of RCCG worldwide as he explained, he urged them to take the vaccination, not out of fear of Covid-19, but to fulfil all righteousness.
“Rather than live in fear or doubt, get vaccinated,” he charged RCCG members. He emphasised that his admonition on vaccination was for RCCG members only, adding that he has no authority to speak to all Christians in Nigeria as such authority belongs to Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN).
Adeboye charged his congregation to give glory to God who answered prayers of RCCG against the virus, stressing that it was God’s mercy that Nigerians, and indeed Africans, did not die in millions as scientists earlier projected.
The popular pastor, fondly called Daddy even by Presidents across the world, had in the early hours of January 1st , 2020 prophesied about the emergence of Covid-19 when he said God told him that in 2020, the world will convulse like a child. He followed it up by announcing to RCCG congregation that God told him that in 2020, the world would be on compulsory holiday. He said God did not give him details of the compulsory holiday, but only got a clearer picture when nations imposed lockdowns, no movements and no-flights.
The gifted pastor who was the only preacher to have publicly foretold of coronavirus and its attendant lockdowns, however, assured the RCCG members that the 60 days fasting of early 2020 was the divine antidote to the virus. He stressed that as for RCCG members, God told him that only those destined to die within the period of Covid-19 would die, meaning they would have died even without covid-19 pandemic.
He charged RCCG members not to be afraid but to adhere to basic principles of cleanliness, a principle he had always espoused long before Covid-19 set in.
