Eight die in Borno twin mosque bomb blasts
No fewer than eight people including two Boko Haram suicide bombers died on Friday, when the terrorists attacked two mosques in Damboa, Borno State, north-east Nigeria, military authorities said.
Nigerian Army spokesperson, Colonel Sani Usman, who confirmed the incident, explained that while the first bomber was prevented from detonating his Improvised Explosive Device (IED) he blew himself up, the second suicide bomber detonated his in a nearby mosque, killing at least six people.
Col Usman said, “At the early hours of today, precisely at about 5.15am, two Boko Haram terrorists’ suicide bombers attacked Damboa.
“The first suicide bomber targeted Damboa Central Mosque but due to stringent security measures, he could not gain entry. Obviously frustrated, he exploded and died near the Central mosque”.
