Fayose is a mad dog, says Buhari’ wife on Twitter
First Lady, Aisha Buhari, has jabbed back at the governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, over allegation that she was involved in the sticky Halliburton scandal in which a US Congressman, William Jefferson, accused some Nigerians politicians of being beneficiaries of a graft he had long been indicted in by the American government.
“Enough is Enough Fayose. A mad dog that isn’t chained. I refuse to keep quiet,” the First Lady posted on her Twitter handle. Mrs Buhari had maintained a dignified silence on the heels of a Fayose’s damaging accusation that she was the same Aisha Buhari mentioned in the Jefferson scam.
Fayose who has been the most vocal critic of the Buhari government is currently being investigated by the anti-graft agency, EFCC, with billions of naira allegedly traced to his bank account. The EFCC has consequently frozen his account.
Governor Fayose accused President Muhammadu Buhari and his family of being corrupt in a press statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary Mr Idowu Adelusi: ” Even the President cannot claim to be an angel. The estate he built in Abuja is known to us. His wife was indicted over the Halliburton scandal. When that American, Jefferson, was being sentenced, the President’s wife was mentioned as having wired $170,000 to Jefferson. Her name was on page 25 of the sentencing of Jefferson. We can serialize the judgment for people to see and read”.
But Fayose outburst has compelled the First Lady to react, saying she could no longer keep quiet.
