50 Feared Dead in Fresh Maiduguri Bombing
No fewer than 50 persons are reported killed by a huge blast in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, Tuesday afternoon
.The blast hit a busy market, killing as many as 50 people, according to eyewitnesses quoted by Al Jazeera.
“A man blew himself up at Gamboru cattle market, according to witnesses who spoke on condition of anonymity for fear of reprisals. One said he counted at least 20 bodies,” the report said.
More than 30 people were reported dead in similar attacks over the weekend.
President Muhammadu Buhari, who has vowed to stamp out Bokon Haram, is currently having his first meeting with the Service Chiefs in Abuja, the Nigerian capital.
