21 States Get New Commissioners of Police
The acting Inspector-General of Police, IGP Suleiman Abba, has taken major step to reposition the police in the face of emerging security challenges in the country with the posting of Commissioners of Police (CPs) to head Police Commands in 21 states. This followed the recommendation of the Commissioners to the Police Service Commission and its subsequent approval.
The new postings, according to police sources, were informed by the desire of the new IGP to infuse a culture of operational efficiency in the force.
