Siege by killer herdsmen: Ubulu-Uku Kingdom sends distress plea to Oborevwori
The people of Ubulu-Uku in Aniocha South Local Government Area of Delta State have sent an S.O.S to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori over the siege on their community by killer gangs of Fulani herdsmen.
Under the auspices of Ubulu-Uku Kingdom Descendants Central Union, the hitherto peaceful community famed for their illustriousness in farming, pleaded with the governor to intervene using security agencies in the state to avert further kidnappings and bloodletting visited on them by the armed gangs.

Below is the distress letter to the Governor:
Your Excellency
Governor Sheriff Oborevwori
Governor of Delta State
Government House
Asaba.
Dear Sir,
ARMED SIEGE ON UBULU-UKU COMMUNITY: AN S. O. S.
We are constrained to draw the attention of Your Excellency to the recent rise in attacks by armed hoodlums on Ubulu-Uku and its environs.
Although the attacks had been going on for some years, there has been a remarkable upsurge in its frequency and severity towards the end of December 2024. The main hotspots where people have been killed by yet to be identified armed men are the roads linking Ubulu-Uku with Issele-Uku; the road leading to Ubulu-Unor from Ubulu-Uku, the Ubulu-Uku road to Onicha Ugbo as well as the road linking Ubulu-Uku with Obior.
The recent fatal attacks led to the death of up to four people with some sustaining different degrees of injuries. The attacks in December took place at the following locations:
1. On Ubulu-Uku road to Ubulu-Unor close to Isho Quarters, an adult male identified to be from Cross River State was killed.
2. A hunter from Ubulu-Uku was shot and killed and his motorbike taken away by hoodlums that are yet to be identified.
3. Along the footpath leading to farms at Onicha Uku quarters in Ubulu-Uku, a headless body of an adult male was found in the same December 2024.
4. Within the Yuletide season, there were several attacks on vehicles plying the Ubulu-Uku/Issele-Uku road. The forests along the road are infested with armed Fulani terrorists who routinely attack and kidnap travellers on the road. The Yuletide attacks on the road were suspected to have been carried out by Fulani militants who have been having a free reign on that particular road. The incidents were all reported to the Police.
5. Ubulu-Uku/Aniagbala/Ubulu-Okiti Road.
Appeal
Your Excellency, we earnestly appeal to you to come to our aid to protect the lives of our people. We plead with you to deploy relevant security agencies to investigate the attacks and forestall further incidents on our farmers and restore free movement with neighbouring communities.
The Ubulu-Uku Kingdom Descendants Central Union (UKDCU), the central town union in Ubulu-Uku, appreciates Your Excellency’s untiring efforts in delivering on your M.O.R.E Agenda to Deltans. Ubulu-Uku has always been a peaceful community with farming as the main occupation of the people.
We desire to keep it that way and pledge to collaborate with your administration in sustaining peace in our dear state and forster development.
Yours faithfully,
For: Ubulu-Uku Kingdom Descendants Central Union
